This document lists which Internet Config Preferences are used by NewsHopper.
News Server (NNTP Host) - The news server as specified in IC will be the default name in the "New Newsfile" dialog box.
Real Name, Organization and Email address. The “UserID” dialog box when creating a new Newsfile will have these settings.
Signature, Quoting String and News Headers.
To specify your Expander application, create a new helper preference called "expander". If no "expander" preference exists, NewsHopper defaults to StuffIt Expander. The copy of IC included in this package has been modified to include this new "expander" setting in any newly created file.
If you have the "Use External Text Editor" option set in NewsHopper, the "editor" setting in IC will be used.
NewsHopper will use IC's "ftp" helper to deal with the ftp URLs.
NewsHopper will find Eudora via the Desktop database. To use a specific Eudora Settings file, create an alias of this file, make sure it is called "Eudora Settings" and place it in your newsfolder.
You can have an IC file local to your newsfolder by putting an "Internet Preferences" file directly in your newsfolder. It will override the standard "Internet Preferences" normally located in your System folder.
Note that it is still possible to use NewsHopper without IC installed.
